Collection of images from the Ogoh-Ogoh Ngrupuk Parade. Ogoh-Ogoh statues play a big part in Balinese mythology of modern times. During the Balinese New Year or Nyepi these giant demonic statues are built for the Ngrupuk parade which occurs on the eve of Nyepi and are used to ward of evil spirits or spiritual pollutants created by the activities of mankind. The parade takes place in Cities, Towns and Villages with Balinese Hindu’s dressed in a variety of beautiful costumes performing and entertaining with music and dance which lasts the whole night long.
