Image Description

In many Dayak villages of Ethnic Borneo in the interior there are numerous Ironwood boardwalks used as a means to get around these floating Dayak villages due to the fact that many of the Dayak Communities are centered around on or near to water in the forms of rivers, lakes or even swamps. Concrete roads and paths are unfeasible hence paths have been constructed using an incredible hardwood material that was once in abundance in Borneo (these days less so after years of logging operations) the robust and hardy Bornean Ironwood (Eusideroxylon zwageri).
