A Transaction takes place between two women at the floating market of Lok Baintan where local women trade their goods on the Martapura river in south Kalimantan. The floating market is also known as Pasar Terapung in the Indonesian language and is famous for this most unique pastime that has been going on for hundreds of years. An age old tradition which the Indigenous women of south Kalimantan partake in on a daily basis. Trading women do so in kind or sell goods such as fresh fruit and vegetables not only to each other but also to visitors of this most quaint of occupations and pastimes. They even sell breakfast for the early risers who can experience this unique floating market of Lok Baintan which normally starts at the crack of dawn until about 9am when the air is cool and pleasurable.
