Stock photo of the famous Bukittinggi landmark the Clock Tower known as Jam Gadang in the Minangkabau language of West Sumatra in Indonesia. Jam Gadang Clock Tower is considered an icon of Bukittinggi and the city’s main tourist attraction. Built in 1926, during the Dutch colonial era it was a gift from Queen Wilhelmina to the city’s controleur. The four clocks were made in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This beautiful image of the Jam Gadang depicts the traditional horse-drawn carriages known as Bendi which transport tourists or local people around the city at the base of the Clock Tower waiting for business. Bukittinggi is a top class travel destination and has a wealth of other visitor attractions and historic sites in the surrounding area.
