Stock Photo Description
Stock photo of Asian Rice plants (Oryza sativa) growing in their natural condition with drooping rice grains and a mountain background in the rural countryside of Japan. Oryza sativa rice plant cultivation in Japan as in the rest of Asia is a large scale affair and grown by commercial farmers and small scale alike by locals who grow just enough to feed the family. All Asian countries have an abundance of rice paddies or paddy fields full of Rice Plants in varying degrees of maturity depending on the season and when they were planted. Asian rice crops can be cultivated due to the tropical climate two or three times per year although in more mountainous regions within Asia which have a more temperate climate one rice crop per year would be the maximum.
