It is a beautiful moment and after the event is over the female will hover over the nearest source of water and oviposit or deposit (lay) the fertilised eggs into the water where they will hatch and transform into bugs before eventually climbing out often up a reed or plant stem and molt. During the metamorphosis the bug will transform into a beautiful Dragonfly.
