Stock photo of Kibber Village mud houses with Chicham village in the background on the slopes of the Himalaya mountains. Both villages are among the highest motorable villages in the world. This is a beautiful wide angle landscape photography image taking in the summertime colour of the Himalaya mountains when the snow as faded away at 4,500 metres.
Kibber Village is located at an altitude of 4,270 metres in the Spiti Valley Himalayan region of the north India state of Himachal Pradesh. Kibber Village had a population of 366 in 2011 who mainly survive using subsistence agriculture during the summer months when the Himalaya mountains are clear of snow. In the winter season it is impossible to grow anything at such altitude with the onset of the big freeze!
