Stock Photo Description
Stock photo of Buffalo Head adorning entrance to a Tongkonan house in Toraja with buffalo horns stacked high on a pole at this traditional and unique dwelling of the Torajan people. Unsurprisingly the roof of the Tongkonan house is also uniquely designed in the shape of buffalo horns! The Toraja culture has many customs and traditions such as this where they decorate their houses with Buffalo head and horns which sets them aside from other Indigenous Cultures of the World. The Buffalo head is a sign of wealth along with the buffalo horns as these are sacrificed during traditional ceremonies and the more horns usually means the more buffalo which have been sacrificed hence the owner must be a wealthy person.
