Stock photo of the wide and dry riverbed of Lahaul Valley and the Himalayan road that runs through Lahaul to Spiti Valley in the northern India state of Himachal Pradesh. This stunning landscape photography image reveals the scale and expanse of Himalayan Valleys. During the summer months when the snow has melted and the sun becomes more common the riverbed becomes visible again. Raging torrents will arrive and flood the riverbed during the rainy season which makes it extremely difficult for transportation to enter the Lahaul Valley. The dirt track on the right of this landscape image is used in unison during the summer with a similar road that actually runs through the river at times, a rough and rocky road navigable only at certain times of the year.
