The summit of Gunung Merapi (Mount Merapi) 2,930m. Mount Merapi literally means ‘Fire Mountain‘ is an active volcano in central Java, Indonesia.
The Last time Mount Merapi erupted was October 2010 when lava from its southern and southeastern slopes descended with great rapidity. People living within a 20 km (12 miles) zone were told to evacuate but the eruption was so fast over 300 people still lost their lives and houses were destroyed on a grand scale.
