Mountain Peak of Gunung Merapi at the summit emitting sulphurous gases at a time of Volcanic activity at one of the world’s most active volcanoes in Central Java, Indonesia. One of 150 volcanoes within Indonesia, Mount Merapi also known as Gunung Merapi is also the most active volcano in Indonesia. This is the summit rock and the highest point of the volcano at 2,930 m above sea level, although this is not the highest it has been. Before the massive eruption of 2010 which completely changed this mountain landscape the peak looking somewhat different to this was 2,968 m.
